Revealed: How Native Doctors Work For Pastors In Asaba

Native doctors in the Delta State capital, Asaba, and its environs are reportedly making brisk business with men of God who allegedly hire their services to increase membership of their churches, by securing for them ‘extra power’ to produce prophecies.

LEADERSHIP reliably gathered that the pastors allegedly pay huge sums of money, between N100, 000 and N150, 000 for prepared charms that are buried at their church premises during the wee hours.

Sources said various churches in Asaba, especially new generation Pentecostal ones, have been reportedly indulging in voodoo practices to increase the membership of their churches as well as produce prophecies for their members who will in the end woo more members to them.

Native doctors who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity disclosed that prominent pastors are their customers and that they perfect their ‘deals’ in most cases at night to escape detection.

Activities of the new generation pastors, insiders said, have reached another level with Asaba residents who, before they became pastor, were known them to be ‘miscreants’ but few months later are seen in exotic cars and expensive dresses.

Only last week Wednesday, a new generation church pastor around Ezenei Avenue was allegedly caught by members of Asaba vigilance group burying a substance suspected to be charms at the premises of his church.

The pastor, our informed sources said, upon interrogation confessed to be indulged in voodoo, a situation he admitted had helped in the past to grow his church. This time he wanted to renew the experience.
