2011: A Christmas To Remember

It was a Black Christmas for the entire nation when the news of a bomb blast circulated like wide fire in the early hours of Christmas at the premises of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, near Suleja in Niger State, Jos, Plateau State, Maiduguri in Borno State and Damaturu, the Yobe State capital which left scores of people lying dead in their pool of blood.

Though reactions came in from far and near from celebrities and residents in the federal capital territory on how they spent their holidays, some expressed shock on the Christmas day bombings.

When interval midweek magazine went round to seek the opinion of residents, they bewildered that something like this could happen while others spoke on how they spent the XMAS.
In some of the suburbs, especially the Lugbe axis, parents and wards were busy observing the rituals of the season.
The market is still bubbling as at Tuesday. People were seen trying to purchase stuffs for themselves while others watch.

Though 2012 is close by , according Sarah Omeke, there is this feeling that next year would be more intriguing.

Ramsey Nouah: As am speaking to you now, am not in town, I’m still celebrating with my family to have a very wonderful celebration with my family. For me I don t miss this period.
Kate Hensahaw: I have a nice time during the Xmas. I went to cinemas to enjoy myself. I don t want to dwell on the past, rather am looking forward.? I am also looking forward towards a better year ahead.

Emmanuel Sule: Though we had a nice Xmas, the only thing that spoiled the celebrations was the bomb blast. It was really a sad Xmas.

Ikaba John Odey: We did celebrate the Xmas in our own way. I intended to take my children to wonderland to enjoy the festivity but the news of the bomb blast devastated me and my family. Even my young son told me not to go out for fear of an attack.

Jaiye Kuti: I went to the beach with my family, and we have a lot of fun. You know how it feels to be away from one s family for a period of time, jumping from one location to the other. So I have a very swell time with my family
Yomi Fash- Laso; I celebrated Xmas, like every other person. But in actual fact, I celebrated it with my family we stayed indoors throughout.

Yemi Solade: I celebrated the Xmas by going to visit some of my family and friends that I was unable to visit during my tight period. It made a very good celebration as I went with my immediate family
Ms Titi Lugbe (zone 5 garden): you can see that we are celebrating the exams. We thank God for spearing our lives. We hope to enjoy the New Year also.

Bukky Wright: I have always been a busy person, but that does not mean I did not have a restful Xmas. I make sure I stayed at home I then went out in the evening to beach to have a fresh air

Joke Silva: Of course I have a very good Xmas with my family. We just stayed at home, receiving many visitors who came to paid us a visit. It was a nice celebration
Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello): Even though I am a Muslim, Xmas is one festival I always look forward to, it makes me more relax with my family. And this year own was not different; I have a very wonderful Xmas celebration

Tolani Oshirin: I celebrated my Xmas at home with my friends, especially those of them whom I don’t have time for, since the beginning of the year, they all came to my house and we have a nice time together.

On Boxing Day, few people were seen driving to some joints, packs, gardens and some motor packs like Karu and Jabi were busy with travelers.
