Cult Clashes Claim 5 Persons In Delta

Five persons have been reportedly killed in cult related war in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta which occurred last Friday.

Reports indicated that a 36-year old man identified as Emeka and father of four was reported to have been involved in the incident which also claimed his life and that of his children.

Emeka, a resident of Osunwa Street, Agbor was said to have been mauled down by a three man armed gang operating on a motor bike.

However, at the shock of the incident which attracted the street members as well as sympathizers, investigation revealed, happened where the said Emeka and few friends were drinking in a bar.

It was learnt that Emeka was a suspected member of the two cult groups that have been in battle since the few weeks.

Sources said the three man gang stopped from their motor bike and as soon as Emeka sighted he took to his heels and was subsequently chased to a corner where he was allegedly murdered along side his four children.

Residents who spoke on condition of anonymity said Emeka and his family case are added situation to the unabated cult cases in the area appealed to the law enforcement agents to come to their aid.

Police spokesman in the state, DSP Charles Muka, who confirmed the incident said the young man and his children were killed in the evening of on fateful day by persons riding on a motor bike.

He said he was not aware if it was a cult related killing adding that police was synergizing with commercial motorcyclists to track down the killers.
