Institute Commends FG, Organised Labour On Peaceful Resolution Of Dispute

The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution has commended the Federal Government and organised labour for the amicable resolution of the recent protest against fuel subsidy removal.

Director-General of the Institute, Dr Joseph Golwa, expressed delight that the Federal Government and labour were able to reach a compromise.

It said, “The development shows the listening leadership quality of Mr President and his commitment to meeting the yearnings of the citizenry.

“It also clearly demonstrates the high level of maturity and understanding of the NLC and the Trade Union Congress on national issues.’’

Golwa commended the contributions of stakeholders in the decision-making process that brought about the peaceful settlement of the dispute.

He urged all Nigerians to embrace the culture of listening and mutual understanding through dialogue.
