Adamawa Guber: INEC To Provide Level Playing Field For All

Few days to the gubernatorial election in Adamawa State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has assured all the parties and their candidates of a level playing field. Addressing a stakeholders’ meeting, yesterday in Yola, attended by the gubernatorial flag bearers of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC,? Buba Marwa, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN,? Engr Markus Gundiri, African Democratic Congress,ADC, Hajiya Zainab Baba Kunchi, security agencies, other party representatives and stakeholders, the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, said that the stakeholders meeting was aimed at resolving issues that would ensure a hitch free exercise.

According to him, the commission has put all necessary measures on ground and will leave no stone unturned in its determination to conduct credible election and appealed to politicians in the State to play according to the rules of the game. This was even as he stressed that credible election was the responsibility of all hence the need for the stakeholders to complement INEC efforts.

He expressed regret over the postponement of the gubernatorial election in the State which was to hold earlier than now and this he attributed to the recent security challenges in the State.

Jega pointed out that Adamawa State was a peaceful State as he charged politicians to sustain the existing peace and work together for the development of the State irrespective of ethnic, tribal and political differences.
