Group Urges Suswam To Curtail Security Threats In Benue

A group, under the aegis of Minda Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Support Group, has urged Governor Gabriel Suswam to ensure that the lingering security threats surfacing in the Benue North West geo-political axis is properly harnessed.??

The group is also canvassing total respect on traditional rulers, elders, youths and women of the state, and that their involvement in the promotion and pursuit of the Minda political ambition in the zone should be exhibited with transparency and accountability.

The group, in a eight paragraph communiqué signed at the end of its stakeholders’ meeting in Makurdi, yesterday, resolved that it was going to organize periodic public campaigns to sensitize people in the zone on the need to have political stability in the state.

The communiqué, which was signed by chairman of the committee, Dr. Tyotom Keghku, and secretary, Mr. Frank Adzuu, also stressed that there was need for unity and cooperation between the three arms of government, which the organization said was to ensure rapid infrastructural development of the state.

It called on Minda people to collaborate towards finding lasting solutions to the political challenges attending the April 2011 elections, in order to pave wave for peace and harmony among the state’s political elite.?
