Boko Haram: Fashola Bans Religious Activities In Lagos Secretariat

Following increasing spate of bombings at religious worship centres in the country by the? Boko Haram sect,? Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has placed a ban on all religious activities within the premises of the State Secretariat located in Alausa area of the state.??

The directive , which was obtained by our correspondent yesterday , was? contained in a circular with reference number EO/BRF/003 of 2012? and signed by the governor.

The circular was sent to all Ministries Departments and Agencies with the subject matter.

The development? is expected to end the daily conduct of prayers by Muslim faithful behind the Ministry of Justice and behind the Ministry of Tourism and Intergovernmental Relations.??

The governor instructed henceforth that all Muslim and Christian faithful utilize the Central Mosque and the Chapel of Christ the Light respectively to conduct their religious affairs.??

Fashola also ordered that only vehicles bearing the official state government sticker, produced by the public service office would henceforth be allowed to park within the secretariat. ?
