Katsina To Address Infrastructural Challenges

Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema of Katsina State? has said that his administration would not waver from its commitment of providing essential services to the people, assuring that the state government would continue to place emphasis on infrastructural development.

Shema who spoke through his deputy, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, stated this when he led some members of the state executive council to inspect works on rural and semi-urban roads projects in Funtua zone of the state.

He said government was mindful of the need to provide access roads to rural areas so as to boost economic activities adding that: “effective transportation through the provision of viable roads is essential for economic development.”

While conducting the Governor round some of the roads projects, the State Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Arc. Mustapha Maikudi Kankia disclosed that over three billion naira had been earmarked for roads construction in the state.

The Governor had earlier inspected construction work on 36km Tudun Iya-Maska-Dandume road which connects sixteen communities and the 32km Bakori-Kakumi road that linked fifteen communities.
