Sex, Extortion, Rock UTME In Delta

Sex romp as well as multiple extortion of candidates characterised last Saturday’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Asaba, Delta State with over 300 candidates? reportedly? duped by? examination syndicates.

Reports said that unsuspecting candidates? were made? to part with huge sums of money? as charges to enroll them for the examination.

Dependable sources said the students paid between N10, 500 and N38, 000 for the UTME . Some of the students, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, alleged that unsuspecting syndicates collected the money? to enrol them for the examination in different parts of Delta, Anambra and Imo States.

Unfortunately for the students,? the alleged fraudsters vanished into the thin air with their money 24 hours to the examination leaving them? stranded.

Mr. Charles Muka Police spokesman in the state confirmed that six persons believed to be part of the syndicates have been arrested adding that they would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

Although the? UTME? was conducted without any major incident, seven students were reportedly arrested for examination malpractices at Anglican Girls Grammar School and Saint Bridget Girl’s Grammar School, in Asaba centres.

Investigations revealed that female students who could not part with money were allegedly subjected to sexual romp by the syndicates who were? ubiquitous in? the centres in Asaba.
