Kebbi: PDP Says It Will Not Share Positions With Defectors

The winner of Saturday’s election in Bagudo/Suru Federal Constituency in Kebbi, Alhaji Bello Ka’oje, says PDP will not share political positions on equal basis with its new entrants.

Ka’oje told our correspondent in Birnin Kebbi on Monday that some ACN and CPC members who defected to PDP recently would not be given special preference in sharing of political positions.

He said, “they defected into the PDP without conditions and they would remain on the same level with the old PDP members.

The PDP was not in any way instrumental to their defection as they did so based on their conviction that the party was on the right path to unity and democracy”.

He said that the insinuations that the defectors would be offered 50 per cent of political positions in Kebbi was not true.

Ka’oje said his emergence as a member of the National Assembly was a challenge to ensure rapid development of the constituency because the area had no representative for 11 months.

Ka’oje was the PDP National Treasurer prior to his election on Saturday.
