Minna Residents Groan Over Security Road Blocks

Residents of Niger State living near offices of security agencies and top government officers are beginning to groan and count their losses due to harassments and road blocks.

?LEADERSHIP findings revealed that security agencies blocked sections of the roads for as as long as one kilometer, disallowing both vehicular and human traffic.

It was also observed that the road blocks initially considered a temporary arrangement had lasted for over one month with some disallowed entry into their homes even when it was the only entrance.

LEADERSHIP observed that the worst hit? by this arrangement were residents around Police head quarters Minna , Government House GRA, the Governor’s Private Residence Peter Sarki Road , Federal secretariat where SSS head quarters is located and the stadium Road near Minna old Prison.

The most obvious of the blockages from findings were the road from federal mortgage bank Junction to Dustenkura Gwari where the road of about one and half Kilometres and one of the entry points to the state was completely blocked.

It was observed that the residents were made to either go as far as Bosso low-cost to gain entrance into their houses or move through the GRA through Bosso Road before gaining entrance into their houses.

Similarly, the Peter Sariki Road where? the Governor’s residence is located was not only manned by the combined team of soldiers, police, special anti terrorist squad and state security Service but the road was completely barricaded.
