Army Sanctions 4 Soldiers For Torturing Female Suspect

Four military officers attached to the 23rd Army Brigade Command, Yola who were found guilty of maltreating a female suspect?? arrested in connection with arms deal have been sanctioned by the Command.

Addressing newsmen yesterday at the Command’s headquarters in Yola, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General John Nwaoga told journalists that the affected officers were found guilty of the act after a? thorough investigation hence the decision to punish them according to relevant? military laws for meting out inhuman treatment on a mere suspect in a bid to extract information.

According to him, the military had its own strategy of obtaining information from a suspect without necessarily inflicting pains or injuries on the suspect stressing that, inflicting injuries on a suspect under any guise was tantamount to assuming the position of the law.
