Man, 40, Remanded In Prison For Raping Daughter, Maid

An Upper Area Court in Gwagwalada, FCT, on Wednesday remanded one Charles Ikeji, 40, in prison for allegedly raping his daughter and a house maid.

The police arraigned Ikeji, a resident of Angwan Gude, in Kuje, FCT, on April 16 on a one-count charge of raping his daughter and a house maid.?

Ikeji is accused of having carnal knowledge of the two, aged between five and eight years, on April 12 contrary to the provisions of Section 282 of the Penal Code.

Police prosecutor Usman Omale said the case was reported at the police station in Kuje by the mother of the victim.

He said that as a result of the act, the daughter sustained injury in her private part and was taken to Kuje General Hospital for treatment.

Omale added that during police investigation, Ikeji confessed committing the crime.

He also pleaded guilty to the charge, and the presiding judge, Mr Babaginda Hassan, ordered him to be remanded in prison.

Hassan reserved judgment in the case to May 28. (NAN)
