13 Victims Receiving Treatment At Wuse, National Hospitals

About 13 victims who suffered varying degrees of injury are receiving treatment at the Wuse General Hospital and National Hospital, both in Abuja.

When LEADERSHIP visited the National Hospital, sources confirmed that three persons were brought in dead while eight persons with varying degrees of injuries were brought in for treatment.

The source also confirmed that all the eight that came in were in stable condition and added that some of them had been treated and discharged.

At the emergency ward of the National Hospital, there were many injured persons, whose ages could be put between 12 and 40.

One of the victims, a fuel attendant at Conoil Petrol Station, located opposite ThisDay office, who gave her name as Blessing said she heard a loud bang and was hit on her right arm by shrapnel from the blast.

“I was selling fuel, when I heard a loud bang and then some sharp objects hit me on the hand, and then I was brought here,” she said.

The deputy director, search and rescue, National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA), Mr. Martins Usuwa also confirmed that five persons were taken to Wuse General Hospital for treatment.

He said he was going round the hospitals where victims of the blast had been taken to further confirm casualties before briefing the media.
