Herbalist Remanded Over Possession Of Human Parts

An Ilorin Chief Magistrates' Court on Friday remanded a 35-year-old herbalist, Ibrahim Abubakar, for alleged possession of roasted human hand and palm.

Adebayo said that a beheaded corpse, identified to be the deceased's was later found inside the bush.

He added that the recovered parts had been subjected to medical examination and preservation at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

The prosecutor told the court that the accused conspired with two others, Bayo and Ewedogbon, who are now at large, to commit the offence.

He objected to the bail of the accused on the ground that the alleged offence was not ordinarily bailable, adding that? investigation was still in progress.

The trial court did not take the plea of the accused.

Chief Magistrate Moses Adegbite ordered the accused to be remanded at Federal Prison Yard, Okekura, Ilorin.

He adjourned the case to May 8, for further mention.
