Nemesis has caught up with a member of a robbery syndicate who was shot dead in error, yesterday, by one of their members.
LEADERSHIP was reliably informed that the robbery suspect was mistakenly shot dead by his colleague during a shootout with security guards at Akufo? village in Ido Local Government Area? of Oyo state.
A competent source hinted that the four man robbery gang was overpowered by the security guards but only one was arrested after the killing of one of them.
The arrested one and the one killed were taken to Apete police station yesterday where a large crowd was entertained by the incident.
The identity of the one killed by his colleague was not known as at press time.
The State Police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bisi Okuwobi, when contacted, confirmed the incident. He also said that the division handling the case has not informed the State Command Headquarters and added that the incident would be investigated and the press briefed at the appropriate time.
