Kaduna Bomb Blast: Yakowa Visits Victims, 2 More Die

Two more victims of Thursday bomb explosion yesterday lost their lives after all efforts by doctors in a hospital in Kaduna to save them failed. This is even as the state governor, Mr. Ibrahim Yakowa visited victims of blast.

Speaking after the visit, Yakowa said, “I am really happy to visit this hospital with the minister of state for Health. We visited some of the victims that are receiving medical attention here, and I am extremely delighted that the victims are being well looked after; they are responding to every treatment being given to them.

“The Kaduna State government is taking full responsibility for the treatment of the 14 victims in this hospital.

“I am also impressed at the reaction of the people of the state; security is the responsibility of all the people. Let me personally thank the inhabitants of this area for their quick response in apprehending the suspected bomber, their action is commended.

“If he had his way, only God knows the extent of damage he would have caused, so truly I commend the people for doing what they did.”

Our correspondent also gathered from a top security agent that two suspected bombers were arrested.

“We have arrested two of the boys, apart from the one arrested by the people, who is with the police. They also sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.”

A senior staff of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) who pleaded for anonymity, also disclosed to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND that other nine victims in the same hospital were on critical conditions.
