Katsina Police Arrest Suspected Killer Of 3 Cops

The Katsina State Police Command has arrested one of the suspected gunmen who attacked and killed three policemen in Sabuwa Local Government Area of the state.

Spokesman of the Police Command, ASP Shehu Koko told newsmen yesterday that the police arrested “one of the gun men, Abdullahi Haruna with AK 47 riffle and he is giving us vital information.”

It would be recalled that dare devil gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on Sunday shot dead three policemen at Mararrabar Maigora Village in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Katsina State Police Command, ASP Shehu Koko who confirmed the incident said that the three policemen were ambushed by the robbers in the early hours of Sunday while on patrol.

?“The attackers on sighting the police patrol van, opened fire on the vehicle resulting in the death of the three policemen on the spot and setting their vehicle on fire. One of the bullets fired at the vehicle hit its fuel tank, and as a result the van went up in flame”.

ASP Koko who did not give the names of the victims, however, said “a police inspector, a sergeant and a corporal” were killed and noted that the police command was able to recover the bodies of the three policemen.

Meanwhile, the police has declared total war on street urchins who have been terrorizing innocent citizens in Katsina metropolis, known by the locals as “Kauraye.”

Addressing the press yesterday, police spokesman Koko??who said that??about 76 members of the Kauraye group had been arrested and would be charged to court for offences contrary to section(s) 307 , 304, 97 (B) of penal code noted that the command was at war with criminals in the state.
