Ex Imo Speaker’s Prolonged Hostage Worries New CP

The new police commissioner in Imo State, Mr. Christopher Dega has admitted that the case of the kidnapped former Speaker of the state, Godfrey Dikeocha who is still being held is proving to be a very hard nut to crack.

Dega in an interactive session with journalists in Owerri on Monday said it was even more worrisome because the kidnappers have continued to display unrepentant attitude towards the release of the former lawmaker.

While assuring that in no distant time his men would smoke out the kidnappers from their den and have the ex Speaker released, the CP disclosed that the matter had been taken over by the anti kidnap department of his command.

?He also informed that adequate measures had been taken by his command to forestall the upsurge of kidnap in the state.

Governor Rochas Okorocha had earlier pledged a million naira reward to anyone who could come up with vital information leading to the arrest of kidnappers.

In another development, the combined traditional rulers of Aboh Mbaise where the ex Speaker hails from have given a-week ultimatum to the abductors of their son to release him or face their wrath.
