Police Arrest Kidnapper of Slain 6-yr-old In Enugu

The Enugu State Police Command has arrested one of the kidnappers of Miss Patience Ogbodo who was murdered last year by her abductors after a payment of N300,000 was made as ransom.

Also arrested was one Chukwudi Udechukwu who allegedly snatched? a motorcycle from one ifeanyi Agu,? a commercial motorcyclist based at 9th mile corner Enugu.

The kidnappers reportedly killed little Ogbodo after? collecting the sum of 300, 00 from her relatives out of the sum of N5m they initially demanded.

Following the inability of the victim's relatives to meet the demand, the kidnappers killed their captive and dumped the corpse at the premises of the modern secondary school Agbani.

A release made available to LEADERSHIP in Enugu yesterday? by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Ebere Amaraizu said the suspected kidnapper identified as? John Nnamani of Obinagu village, Akpugo in Nkanu West local government area of the state was arrested by the men of the Anti kidnap Squad of the command led by superintendent Stephen Osaghae? last week in Agbani axis of the state.

Amaraizu disclosed that after his arrest , “revelations were made from the preliminary investigations and it was discovered that the suspect has a link with the alleged kidnap of the victim as well as her death while under captive by them”.

The suspect is?? helping the police in their investigations.
