Former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Audu Ogbeh and chairman BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Ishaku Ibrahim are among those that will this week hold a fund raising dinner for the gubernatorial campaign of the Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Sen. Dmingo Alaba Obende (Edo North) who announced this in Abuja? said Ogbeh would be the chairman of the occasion while, Alhaji Abdulsamad Ishaku Ibrahim would be the? Special Guest of Honour.
Obende explained the rationale behind this: “If people don’t give you money to run for election, certainly you will steal government’s money. This is to morally and financially support him rather than dip hand in government coffers.”
Tagged: “ Adams Oshiomhole 2012 Campaign Committee”, the Senator said the group comprises “businessmen and professionals in various fields who have identified with the transformation agenda of Oshiomhole administration.”
The senator assured that the money realised after the launch would be used only for the purpose it was raised stressing that there would be proper accounting.
He said the Independent National electoral Commission(INEC) was aware of the fund raising.
He noted that PDP had ruled Edo State for 13 years but only brought underdevelopment.
According to him, under the present government, the state had seen development.
