A 25-year-old teacher, Mrs Rafat Agboola, ?was on Thursday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court for allegedly beheading her husband, Olatunji.
According to the charge sheet, the accused was said to have committed the offence on June 12 at 12:am at Temidire Street, Usi-Ekiti in Ido-Ekiti Magisterial? District.
It further said that that the accused unlawfully caused the death of her 32-year-old husband? by cutting him with a cutlass while he was sleeping.
The accused was said to have ?committed an offence punishable under Section 319 of the criminal code, cap 77, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990.
The defence counsel, ?Mrs Itu Mohammed, ?pleaded with the court to adjourn the matter to enable her study the case file.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Ewuola Ebenezer, ?urged the court to remand the accused in ?prison because it was a capital offence.
Magistrate Bayode Owoeye ordered the accused? to be remanded at Ado- Ekiti prison and adjourned the case to July 4. (NAN)
