Governor of Niger state, Dr? Babangida? Aliyu has described the integration of almajiri system of education in the north as timely, even as he urged stakeholders to incorporate skills acquisition in the project.
The governor? who was the chief speaker? at the event organised by Media for Morals in Nigeria commended the? organisers, noting that the Nigerian woman has since realized that her role in the society goes beyond child bearing,house wife , market woman and helper to the husband.
The governor who spoke on the topic, ‘’The role of the media in eradicating child abuse,’’ noted that women have understood this challenge and have keyed into it.
At the occasion, the chairman of Leadership newspapers, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah who was the guest speaker said that the Nigerian media needs to hold the different levels of leadership from the home to the school and the government responsible for the well being of the child, especially in a world where the predators may not just be the stranger in the street corner.
