Police Raid Boko Haram Hideout In Kaduna, Arrest 3 Suspects

In its continual efforts to clamdown on criminal elements in the State, the Kaduna State Police Command? yesterday morning raided Boko Haram hideout shortly after arresting three suspected members of the sect.

The Police had Sunday morning on a stiff operation arrested three suspected members of the sect and recover two AK47 rifles, three magazines, ammunition and some Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the suspects.

The State Commisioner of Police, Mohammed Jinjiri Abubakar who disclosed this while briefing Journalists said “one of the arrested terrorists who made confession, led a team of detectives from the Police Anti-Robbery squad to Rafin-Guza area where a hideout was raided and recover IEDs materials.”

The IEDs materials recovered which were made available to Journalsists included, a bomb-making Powder, Different cans of explosives, one jerry-can of acid, four security uniforms, two bags of chemicals, two eye masks, one AK47 magazine with 27 rounds of live ammunition and Eight Car alarm system.

The commissioner gave the names of those arrested as one Nura Abubakar and one Mohammed Kabir.

According to him, the men and officers of the command had last week arrested three suspected armed robbers who stormed shibash filling station at Mararan Yakawada, area of Giwa local government in the state and robbed the Manager of the filling station, one Aliyu Adamu.

The commissioner who gave their names as Ibrahim Usman, Zakariya Hassan and Umar Mohammed, said an IED, four expended ammunition, one revolver pistol with six round of live ammunition, one AK47 rifle loaded with 28 bullet, one Nokia handset and one motocycle were recovered from the suspected robbers.

According to the commissioner, a total of 147 persons were arrested in connection to the recent crises in the state, adding that the suspect has since been charged to court.

The commissioner who commended members of the public for assisting the security agencies in tracking criminals, however seek for more support from the members of the public.

CP Abubakar also clear air that he had invited for questioning the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Hon. Isahaku Dogo Makama over a petition written against him by some concern citizens of the state.
