I Followed Due Process In Dissolving LG Councils – Yuguda

Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state has berated his critics on the? dissolution of the local government councils of the state before the end of their tenure, saying that, he? followed due process.

The governor made the reaction while speaking to newsmen? in Dutse when he visited the state to condole the emir of Dutse and Governor Sule Lamido over the death of eight traditional rulers under Dutse emirate, who died in a ghastly auto? crash which occurred in Zamfara state.

Yuguda stated that he is a product of democracy and due process, therefore, he would never ever take any action that would undermine democracy or the constitution.

He noted that he dissolved the councils based on the new amended law made by the state House of Assembly pertaining local government.

“You are all acquainted that Nigerian Constitution has bestowed State Assembly with power to make laws for local government election and their general administration, and I use this law in taking my action on the councils.

“I challenge my critics and those who are making speculation with all sorts of blackmail to go and read Bauchi State Local Government laws.”

Governor Yuguda however, revealed that they have directed the state Independent Electoral Commission to start preparation to conduct fresh election.
