Education In Nigeria On The Decline – Gov Aliyu

Niger State Governor, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu saying that Nigeria’s education was on? the decline and called on government at all levels to take practical steps to address the situation.

Aliyu who stated this yesterday at? Government House, Minna after the inauguration of Schools Basic Management Committee, said there was a lot of rot in the education sector which requires all stakeholders? to join hands to return it to the past glory.

He said that parents and other stakeholders should pay more attention to the education of their wards as one of the ways to revive the downward trend.

According to him, his administration would continue to provide the enabling environment that will make teaching and learning conducive to both the teachers and students respectively.

He said that government has been committing a lot of resources to the construction of new schools and rehabilitation of old ones as well as the provision of modern teaching and learning materials.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Hussaini Darangi, thanked the government for appointing them into the committee assuring that they will perform their duty to the expectations of the administration.
