Jigawa Police Beef-up Security For 1999 Constitutional Review

The Jigawa state police command says it has provided adequate security arrangement for the constitutional congresses in 12 Federal constituencies in the state for 1999 constitutional review.

Mr Theophilus Kayode, the state police commissioner,?told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that officers and men of the command have been posted to various Federal constituencies of the state to cover the event.

Kayode said?the police would ensure the protection of lives and property during the period.

The commissioner said?nobody or group of persons would be allowed to jeopardise the event.

He said that his men would ensure that things were done?in line with the event expectations.

Kayode solicited?people’s support and cooperation to ensure the achievement of the event.

The review of the 1999 constitution would hold between?Nov. 10 and Nov,?15 in all the 360 federal constituencies in the country.(NAN)
