Bauchi State Govt. Releases N1.34m To Assist 41 Pilgrims Who Lost Their Money

The Bauchi State Government has released N1.34 million to its Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board to assist 41 pilgrims who?lost various sums of money.

Alhaji Jibrin Hassan, the Secretary, Committee on Lost of Money and Travelling Documents,?made this known on Saturday in Makkah in an?interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said?the money would be?paid to the affected pilgrims who?lost various sums of money while performing the 2012 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

The committee scribe?added that?the N1.34 million?was part of the?N4.03 million proposed by the committee to be paid to the affected pilgrims.

Hassan said that the affected pilgrims were paid one-third of their Basic Travelling Allowance as assistance to enable them to perform the pilgrimage.

He noted that?some of the victims?misplaced their monies,?while others were either duped or had their money stolen in the Holy Land.

The secretary added that the committee had recovered some travelling documents and had issued new ones as replacement to some pilgrims who?lost theirs.?(NAN)
