Former Under Secretary General at the United Nations, New York, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has expressed sadness at the passing away of Kwara strongman, Dr. Olusola Saraki.
In a? statement made available to LEADERSHIP, Gambari said:? “I was deeply saddened by the news of the passing away of the charismatic and hugely successful political leader in Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State, North Central geo-political zone and Nigeria as a whole. He single-handedly built a grass roots political machine that has endured for? decades.
“The late Oloye Dr. Saraki will be remembered for his humility, generousity and love especially for the people of his primary constituency. And throughout his political life, he remained? an unapologetic defender of the institution of the Emirate. May he rest in peace. Amen. Meanwhile, my thoughts and prayers go to members of the Saraki? family as they mourn the irreplaceable loss of their? patriarch.”
