My parents are…my mum is super sweet, she is a housewife and is totally dedicated to her family. She is very funny and extremely caring. Dad is very quiet and very reserved; he is all about his family also. He loves joking with his children and listening to us. He is very supportive of each and every one of us.
The household I grew up in… a one-bedroom apartment in Maiduguri until I was about nine-year-old before we moved to a four-bedroom apartment. After graduating from the high school, we moved back to a three-bedroom apartment. I didn’t have a room to myself until I was about nine.
When I was a child I wanted to… be a pilot, but my dad always wanted the girls to be a doctor.
If I could change one thing about myself… I know I’m not perfect; but I think I’m proud of whom I am. In life, you have to be the person you want to be. So I strive to be the best that I can.
You wouldn’t know it but I’m very good at… solving problems. I am very blunt. If something bad happens, I don’t cry about it; I just accept it.
My vision for the nearest future… to get to that stage where I can help whoever comes my way. It might not be financially; but to be there for that person. Being there in terms of need for someone can go a long way at helping and comforting that person.
You may need to know… I grew up in a very strict house. My parents have always been strict for as long as I know them. I wouldn’t dare remove my hijaab. It has been engraved in my subconscious mind to always have it on.
What I see when I look in the mirror… the person trying to achieve her goals; a person trying to help humanity. I hope I’ll always be that person and not deviate.
It is not fashionable but I like… modesty and I think every woman should be modest.
A book that changed me… Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens because the story is about an orphan boy who went through turbulent times but was able to overcome his challenges to become great in life.
Though I am not a movie freak… TV serial, ‘Scandal’ is one I find time to follow despite my tight schedule.
I have a strong semblance… with my father. When those who know my father see me for the first time, they say I need no introduction for them to say who my father is.
My greatest joy is… my son. Though I’m a single mother; I am happy he is part of my life.
My five-year plan… to have at least five Tulip Bistros at major cities in the country by God’s grace; I hope to develop estates that are affordable for not just the rich, but the poor in the society.
Hmm I wish… to be remembered for my service to humanity; and as a good role model for my son.

Zara Indimi was born in Maiduguri in 1979. She had her primary education in Maidugiri Nigeria; secondary education in Alexandra Egypt and graduate studies and post-graduate studies in Florida USA.
She co-founded Tulip Bistros with her twin-sister Mina, who according to her is very passionate about catering. Zara is based in Abuja and intends going into real estate development. She is a single mother that is blessed with a son.
