AMAC Poll: Groups Endorse Jiba For Second Term

As the date for the local council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) draws closer, political groups in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) have endorsed the incumbent chairman of the council, Hon. Micah Jiba, for a second term.

The groups who disclosed this at a solidarity meeting organised by the Hon. Micah Jiba Movement for 2013, said the decision to endorse him was in recognition of his achievements in the areas of infrastructural development, human resources development, poverty reduction, wealth creation, staff welfare, peace, safety as well as protection of lives and property.

Chairman of the Micah Jiba Movement for 2013, Alhaji Musa Dala, who spoke at the solidarity rally, said the giant strides of Jiba in the last two years in office has brought transformation to the people at the grassroots.

In his response, Jiba said he was humbled by the notable personalities and their comments on his performance in office and pledged to continue to work towards the development of AMAC and the empowerment of its residents.

Notable groups present at the event include Hon Micah Jiba G-13 and group of former AMAC councillors. Others were the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward chairmen and secretaries led by Hon Maumood Maumood and the FCT NAPEP coordinator, Alhaji Abba Hassan Girma, among others.
