Former Nigerian captain, Sunday Oliseh has identified Chelsea forward, Victor Moses as the Super Eagles’ most important player at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
The 22-year-old has scored twice at the Afcon, both via penalties against Ethiopia, but Oliseh, who racked up 63 caps in an international career that spanned 10 years, has been suitably impressed by the former Wigan Athletic winger.
“Victor Moses is the life of the Super Eagles. He gives tempo to the game. He’s such a complete player and our team is different when he doesn’t play,” Oliseh said.
Moses was at his imperious best as the Super Eagles stunned the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday to reach the semifinals of the competition and Oliseh was quick to acknowledge the forward’s contributions.
“He was the live wire of the Super Eagles against the Ivory Coast on Sunday. All the free kicks we got in that game came from him and he delivered them expertly,” he said.
Moses will earn his ninth cap for Nigeria if he plays against Mali on Wednesday.
The attacker has scored four goals for his country.
