The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, ?who confirmed the shooting to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Lagos, said that detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department had commenced investigation into the matter. ? ?
The Police Chief told NAN that the deceased was allegedly shot on his right shoulder by two suspected assassins who walked into his residence at Onimole Court, ?off Iga-Idugaran, Lagos Island. ? ?
He said that the chief was rushed to the General Hospital, Lagos, but did not survive the shooting.
According to the police commissioner, one shotgun cartridge was recovered from the scene of the shooting. ? ?
Manko said he would soon brief newsmen on the initial findings of police detectives on the killing.(NAN)?
