“ Don’t Come For Deposits, Come For Partnership’’, Gov. Yero

Gov. Mukhtar Yero of Kaduna State on Friday advised banks to seek for partnership with his administration rather than cash deposits in the course of developing the state.

Yero gave this advice when the Chairman, Board of Directors of Mainstreet Bank, Alhaji Falalu Bello led other members of the bank on a courtesy visit in Kaduna.

He said that the bank and others should come up with viable proposals that would enable the state government to?go into partnership with them to develop, as well as generate profit for the state.

“ Don’t come to me to?ask for a deposit, or ask for an account. Come, so that we partner in order to develop, there are so many things we can do together.

He also advised the banks to follow-up and monitor the execution of projects embarked upon by customers, who borrowed money from them?to ensure proper utilisation of the funds.

Earlier, Bello had appealed to the state government to reactivate the 27 dormant accounts of state Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

He attributed the dormant accounts to the financial banking problems that crippled many commercial banks in the country.

Bello assured the governor that the bank had resolved all its problems and had been working effectively.

“ We are prepared to partner with the state government in financing economic activities, in financing colleagues who are desirous to buy houses or assets,’’ he said. (NAN)
