The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Pensions, Hon. Samson Okwu has commended the evolution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors? Forum, saying it would strengthen the party’s unity, discipline and loyalty of members.
Hon. Okwu who represents Oju/Obi Federal Constituency of Benue State in the House of Representatives disclosed this while speaking to LEADERSHIP SUNDAY in Abuja.
He said the coming on board of the PDP Governors Forum will put an end to all negative manifestations of party disloyalty and discord, and create an authentic platform for the ventilation of true aspirations and healthy tendencies of the party’s faithful at the top echelons of the state, thus creating an enabling channel for cross fertilization of ideas between the federal government and the states.
Speaking further on the merger of opposition parties and the formation of All Progressive Congress (APC), the lawmaker said the PDP and its teeming supporters have nothing to fear from the unfolding development, adding that the new party lacks the geographical spread, national acceptance, electoral credibility and national cohesion of the PDP.
According to Hon. Okwu, ‘‘Even to any discerning observer, PDP remains the party to beat as it is ably represented in all the geo-political zones of the country”.?
