Suntai’s Health Should Not Be Politicised – Media Aide

The senior special adviser to the governor of Taraba State on media and publicity, Mr. Silvanus Giwa has expressed dismay over the way and manner Governor Danbaba Suntai’s state of health is being politicised.

Giwa who stated this yesterday in Jalingo during an interview with LEADERSHIP said that the commissioner of information, Mr. Emmanuel Bello and Dr Ahmed Kara who is the personal physician to Suntai and the doctor of the Government House clinic are the people who have authority to speak on Suntai’s state of health.

He added that the wife of the governor, Mrs Hauwa Suntai returned from Hanover, Germany recently and had told the whole world that her husband was responding positively to all his medications, saying that nobody else has the right to speak on the governor’s health condition.

“For Dr Zakari Aliyu to have come up and speak to Daily Trust reporters on Suntai’s health condition is really-really unethical and a hasty conclusion,” he said.

According to him, Dr Aliyu was only known as the chief medical director of the specialist hospital, saying he is not the spokesman of Suntai.

It would be recalled that the medical director of the state own Specialist Hospital Jalingo, Dr Zakari Aliyu,? last week granted interview to some foreign and local media where he disclosed that Governor Suntai’s state of health was still critical.
