Vice president of Bauchi Polo Club, Ali Wanka has vowed that his team will win a major cup in this year’s Zaria Polo tournament which started this weekend.
The Zaria polo tournament is one of the biggest annual tourneys in the country and has continually attracted the biggest crowd.
According to the organisers of the event, this edition promises to be the most competitive and exciting in the history of the tournament since the Governor of Kaduna State Mukthar Ramalan Yero who is the Patron of Zaria Polo Club is expected to attend.
“We are going to win a cup, last year we lost in the semi finals to Kaduna Polo Club. But this year we are well prepared for any team and by the grace of God we will win a trophy this time around.”
According to Wanka, Bauchi polo club will be going to Zaria with two teams – Bauchi Kari and Gugi
“In the last tournament in port Harcourt we lost in the semi final to Zaria polo club and this time we are going to revenge in their own backyard.
Also, we are using this tournament to prepare for our tournament which will come up in June in Bauchi. So, we are coming back to Bauchi with a trophy this time.’’ He boasted.
