Siasia dismisses Osaze report

12 May 2011

Nigeria coach, Samson Siasia, has dismissed as a mere destraction a report that he plans to slap a two-match ban on England-based striker Osaze after a twitter rant against him.

I have not known peace since the report came out that I will ban Osaze for our next two games, Siasia told MTNFoootball.com.

As far as Im concerned, this is just a destraction to the team ahead of an important game (WAFU Nations Cup semi-final against Ghana later Thursday).

Im yet to release the list for the matches against Argentina and Ethiopia. It is only when I have released it and Osaze is not there that people should start asking me questions on this.

West Brom star Osaze, who has so far banged 15 goals this season in the English Premier League, could be made to pay for his outburst against Siasia on twitter last month, according to media reports.

Osaze vented his anger against the Eagles handler on twitter when he was only used as a substitute in a Nations Cup qualifier against Ethiopia in Abuja in April.

He will later leave the team for England and so not feature in a friendly against Kenya also in Abuja a few days later.

Officials told Nigerian daily sports paper, Complete Sports, Siasia has insisted on handing Osaze a two-match ban for his misconduct.

Osaze has clashed with several national team coaches, namely Augustine Eguavoen, Shuaibu Amodu and Lars Lagerback.

He also came close to walking out on the countrys team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics after a face-off with coach Siasia.
