Minister Dissolves Parastatals, Agencies’ Boards

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala has approved the immediate dissolution of the boards of all parastatals and agencies under the FCT administration.

This was contained in a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the minister, Muhammad Hazat Sule.

The move, according to the minister, is in furtherance of efforts by his administration to reposition and restructure the operations of its parastatals and agencies towards effective service delivery.

The affected parastatals and agencies include the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA); Abuja Technology Village; FCT Scholarship Board; Aso Radio and Television; FCT Secondary Education Board; FCT Universal Basic Education Board and Area Council Service Commission.
Others are the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board; FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board; FCT Urban and Regional Planning Tribunal; Abuja Infrastructure and Investment Centre (AIIC), and Abuja Film Village International. ?

Senator Mohammed, according to the statement, further directed that secretaries/chief executives of affected parastatals and agencies should take over the running of the offices pending the composition of the new boards, which would be made up of individuals with impeccable character, appropriate qualifications and requirements of their respective enabling laws.
