FG Commences Rehabilitation Of Abuja Airport

The Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah–Ogiemwonyi, has commenced the rehabilitation of the domestic wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

This was disclosed by the Assistant General Manager (AGM) Public Affairs, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Alfred Itua during an exclusive chat with LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja.

It would be recalled that the aviation minister had promised to rehabilitate facilities at the airport during an inspection tour after she assumed duties.
Itua iterated that the minister did not waste time in delivering her mandate as she had approved the rehabilitation of toilets in the domestic wing of the airport.

“Rehabilitation of toilets in the domestic wing began yesterday at the domestic wing. The rehabilitation is to ensure that passengers enjoy comfort while passing through the airport” he said.

The AGM further revealed that the upgrade of the carousal/conveyor belt to meet world standard was also underway. He said: “This will speed up the retrieval time of baggage on arrival by passengers.”

He appealed to passengers to be patient with FAAN during the rehabilitation exercise even as he promised that work would be completed in the shortest possible time.
