Lawmaker Tasks FG Over Osara Dam

The lawmaker representing the central axis of Kogi State at the National Assembly, Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman has called on the federal government to complete Osara Dam,to boost the socio-economic activities in Ebiraland.

He made the call at Osara, when he led a team of engineers from the Federal Ministry of Water Resources to assess the level of work carried out on the project site.

He pointed out that for ages the people of his constituency had been suffering from perennial water shortage, adding that the old Okene water works was overwhelmed by the growing population.

According to him, the Osara Dam which was constructed to serve both the steel project and the people of the area has never been put to use, and charged the government to urgently do something in that regard.

Senator Abatemi-Usman further assured the people of the area of their commitment to adequately fight for their cause at the National Assembly, promising that no stone would be left unturned until their problems were addressed.

He disclosed that provision of water and completion of the two steel companies were the two mains issues bordering his people, insisting that the federal government might have done a lot in the past, but not much has been done for his people.

He therefore promised not to relent in pursuing the challenges confronting his people, saying there was urgent need for the government to look into those problems, which he pointed out, were critical to his people, with a view to solving them.
