Suleja Schools To Experience Facelift

In an attempt to uplift the plight of school children in Nigeria, The Brand Swift Nexus in collaboration with the Seekers Production Limited? has? come up with an initiative tagged “School Challenge”? to build a new generation of young Nigerians through enhancement of educational standard.
?

?Speaking with LEADERSHIP, a member of the Brand Swift Nexus, Mohammed Basa, said the idea came up because of the present challenge of the Nigerian child in the area of education, adding that the educational value in the country was on the decline as school children now prefer watching?? movies than studying their books.
?

?“The aim of this initiative is to see how we can put our hands together and make a difference because Nigeria? as a country have always had good policies, but the problem is implementation, so we are here to put things in order because we are in a global world.? We are no longer in the 80s and 70s, in today’s educational system, a child in Suleja is not only competing with children in Niger State, but in other parts of the world, therefore, there is need for improvement on our standard of education.”
?

?Basa added that they were hoping to reach out to the entire country. “We have just started with Niger State but we are going to extend it to other parts of the country with time.? We have organized quiz competition in some schools in Suleja through partnership with Peak Milk, Indomie among others. We are also going to be giving out text books and learning materials to some schools,” he said.
??

Hon. Dikko Bisallah, who spoke with LEADERSHIP on behalf?? of Hon. Dubril Bawa, member of House of Assembly, commended the effort of the organizations. “We have quite a number of schools here in Suleja and many are still springing up,? so it necessary for people to come with initiative and to join hands in making things walk through synergy.”

Also, Kabir Usman Tafida, the president general of Suleja Association Forum, told LEADERSHIP that the programme had touched about 80 percent of the need in that locality. “I understand that poverty is one factor that prevents children from going to school; a situation where by you see parents taking their kids to the farm when their mates are in the school, am glad that an initiative like this has come up because is going to make impact in the lives of these children.”
