PDP Chieftain Seeks National Security Summit

Alhaji Muktari Mapia, a PDP chieftain in Sokoto State, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to organise a national security summit to find a lasting solution to the current killings in the country.

Mapia said in Sokoto on Wednesday that such summit would enable stakeholders to contribute meaningfully toward finding a lasting solution to the nation’s security challenges.

He said the time had come for the Federal Government to seek measures that would strengthen the nation’s cooperate existence.

Active participation of stakeholders in the summit would go a long way in making Nigerians to be more tolerant of one another, he said.

He appealed to the government to equip the nation’s security outfits with the necessary facilities to enable them confront the nation's security challenges effectively.

He, however, expressed confidence in the ability of the security officers to handle the nation's security well if given the necessary tools.

Mapia called on Nigerians to be more tolerant with one another to enable the three arms of government implement policies and programmers that would enhance their wellbeing.
