A legal icon, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) at the weekend explained that the people of Edo North and other parts of the state rejected the offer of Deputy Governor dangled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), because the incumbent Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had performed creditably in office.
He? said that the next election on July 14 2012 would not be about political party adding that??? it was an insult to the people for the PDP to canvass for votes when the state already has a Governor who had a track record of performance.
Chief Ozekhome while delivering? a vote of thanks at the formal commissioning of a hotel in Ivioghe, Etsako East Local Government Area said irrespective of whatever political party the people belong to, they should? vote for Comrade Oshiomhole.
“This is not because he is our son. Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has performed so well that he has turned Edo State into a construction site in Nigeria,” he noted.
In his words, “Comrade Oshiomhole is an unusual governor. He is a blessing to Afemai, Weppa Wanno, Etsako people, Edo nation, Nigeria, Africa and to the entire mankind.”
Chief Ozekhome said, “let us support our own. Let us bring him back for the second tenure and he will make Etsako land like any foreign country”.
He said with the transformation that had taken place? in Edo North and other parts of the state, he was optimistic that Comrade Adams Oshiomhole would score 99.9 percent while in Edo South, it would be 100 percent.
Comrade Oshiomhole who commissioned the hotel commended the initiative of the proprietor to locate such a hotel in the rural community and put it in the hospitality map of the world.
“We have been able to attract private investors to this local community. May this edifice encourage young ones to come back to invest so that this part of the state will witness development”, he added.
