Governor Aliyu Reshuffles Cabinet

The Governor of Niger State, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle, following the swearing-in of a new commissioner, Alhaji Mohammed Kpotun Abdullahi who replaces late Aminu Yusuf from Paiko who died in February earlier this year.

The new commissioner was until his appointment, the managing director of the state Agricultural Development Project, ADP and was assigned as the Commissioner for Agriculture.

Consequently, Governor Aliyu moved the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peter Sale Sarki to the Ministry of Land and Housing while the former commissioner in the ministry, Alhaji Nuhu Musa was taken to the ministry of mining and solid minerals resources.

Also, Dr. Baba Minin Sule former commissioner for works was redeployed to the Ministry of Health while Engineer Jibril formerly with the ministry of the Environment was moved to the ministry of Works. Alhaji Saidu Ndako was also moved from the ministry of Transport to the ministry of Economic Planning.

In the same vein, the governor added that, Alhaji Mohammadu Dansalau was taken from the ministry of Health to that of Investments, Commerce and Cooperatives, while the former occupier of the position, Alhaji Mohammed Kabiru Wushishi was taken to Tourism and Culture.

The governor also announced the movement of Mrs. Susan Gana who was taken from the ministry of Agriculture to Education, while the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hajia Hadiza Abdullahi will now add environment matters to her responsibilities.
