CLO Petitions IGP Over Murder

The Civil Liberty Organisation (CLO) has called on the Inspector-General of P olice, Mohammed Abuba ng the murder of a deputy director in the Anambra–Imo River Basin Development Authority, Owerri, Sir Basil Ejezie.

He was allegedly clubbed to death by his brothers-in-law at his Umunze country home on a day members of his church were celebrating this year’s Fathers’ Day.

Sir Basil Ejezie was of Ubaha village, Umunze, Orumba South LGA of Anambra State.

It also demanded for the arrest of other suspects in the case, mostly relatives to the deceased’s wife, who invaded the deceased’s premises while his corpse was still lying at the hospital, as well as Rev Fr. Emmanuel Anyanwo, who has resisted police invitation.?

A press statement signed by its South-East acting zonal chairman, Comrade Chidi Ekpewerechi, and made available to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND, expressed worry that the Anambra police command could not arrest the suspects even when the family? of the deceased? petitioned the state commissioner of police.
