Lagos Fire: Buhari Writes Fashola, Sympathises With Lagosians

Former Military Head of State and presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the last 2011 Presidential election, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) has condoled with Lagos State Governor, Alhaji Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) over the recent fire outbreak in Jankara market, Idumota.

Gen. Buhari, in the letter, addressed to Governor Fashola, expressed concern over the loss of lives and property in the inferno.
The General, who personally signed the letter, hoped that this type of incident would not happen again.

The letter read, “I am writing, on behalf of my family and the supporters, to convey to you our heartfelt grief and sympathy on the terrible fire outbreak at Jankara market, Idumota.

“I am greatly saddened by the loss of lives and properties. Please convey to the victims and the entire people of Lagos our sympathies for their grievous losses.

“All patriotic Nigerians are hoping that this type of occurrence does not happen again and laws of the country concerning importation, manufacture and storage of combustible items are strictly adhered to,” the statement further stated.
