PDP Honours Obasanjo Over Retirement From BoT

Ex-Ghanaian President, Mr. John Kufuor, President Goodluck Jonathan and a host of governors across the federation are billed to storm the Amphitheatre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) for a civic reception in honour of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for his voluntary retirement from office as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The chairman of the party’s planning committee, Adeyemi Adefulu at a press conference yesterday in Ibadan, said Obasanjo was being celebrated because of his status as a Nigerian statesman.

The two-day event which holds at OOPL, Abeokuta, features lectures and cultural night on January 18 with General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido as chairmen of the two separate occasions respectively.

Governors from Akwa Ibom and Delta states are special guests of honours of the Day One event.

The South-West PDP, organisers of the event, said Day Two would feature civic reception at Ake Palace Grounds on Saturday, January 19.
