Katsina CPC Dissolves Leadership, Dismisses NASS Member

The Katsina State chapter of the opposition Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has dissolved its leadership at both wards and local government levels even as it dismissed the member representing Bakori/Danja constituency at the national assembly, Aminu Idris Bakori.

Addressing newsmen after its meeting, the Katsina State CPC caretaker committee chairman, Faruk Adamu Aliyu, said a 5 man caretaker committee had been appointed for the local government level and noted that “the committee will come up with list of care taker committees at the ward levels.”

Aliyu who insisted that the dissolution was part of measures to reposition the party said “the state chapter of the party reaffirmed its approval and support to the national headquarters for the planned merger talk, and we hope it will come to fruition.”

He reaffirmed the dismissal from the party, of the Katsina state commissioner of water resources, Jamilu Mamman Danmusa and disclosed that not fewer than ten other members, including Umar Katsyal and Muntari Dandutse of the Yandoma led faction, have also been dismissed.
